The initial setup

Your hardware.
Our software.

Prepare the station once, then let each shooter join from their phone. Hardware is separate from the RangeHunter software.

01 / COMPUTER

Run RangeHunter

The computer runs the software, controls the projected scene and stores local profiles, sessions and recordings.

02 / PROJECTOR

Bring the scene to life

The small projector displays a 1 m × 75 cm image on the target board. Top mount it approximately 1.4–1.7 m from the board, depending on angle, and connect it as the computer’s display.

03 / CAMERA

Your phone can provide the feed

Our current setup uses a phone as the camera feed. Top mount it facing the 1 m × 75 cm target board, approximately 1.4–1.7 m away depending on angle.

04 / GET STARTED

Set up RangeHunter on your computer, connect the projector and camera, and put shooter phones on the same local network. Display the station’s QR code to let shooters join.

You need a projector, a computer and a camera. We provide the software and can discuss getting your venue started.

The project

Designed for the range.
Developed with care.

RangeHunter is software for a local projection-based shooting station. The computer runs the experience and session records; the projector brings scenarios into the room; a connected camera completes the station. A separate recreational airsoft prototype is also in development.

A demonstration is the place to discuss the intended use, equipment and suitability for your venue. Cross-range accounts and a shared online platform are future work.

Good to know

Your questions,
answered.

What do I need, and what do you provide?

We provide the RangeHunter software. Our current station uses a computer, a small projector and a phone as the camera feed. A larger projector and target setup is planned. Shooter phones join the computer over the local network.

Where should the projector and camera be mounted?

For our compact setup, both are top mounted facing a 1 m wide × 75 cm high target board, approximately 1.4–1.7 m away depending on angle. This is equipment spacing, not shooter distance. Mounting distances and target dimensions for the planned larger setup are still to be confirmed.

Can it track multiple shots and change scenes from a phone?

Yes. The system tracks multiple shots and their sequence during a session. You can choose and change shooting scenes and control the session from your phone.

Does the shooter need to install an app?

The current session interface runs in a phone browser connected to the same local network as the range station.

Does the current station require the internet?

The current local-station workflow is designed to work on the range’s local network without internet access. Its accounts and session history remain local to that station.

Can I use it at any range?

Suitability depends on the venue, physical target surface, equipment and operating conditions. Enquire about a demonstration and an assessment of your intended setup.

Is RangeHunter available to download here?
